As a young, single mom, I was inspired by my Aunt Tiffany, whose love for creating meaningful spaces changed my life forever. One day, she visited my humble home and asked if I’d mind if she shopped for a few pieces to make the space feel cozier. When I returned from work that evening, everything shifted. She had brought in a collection of beautiful, memorable items that made my house feel like a true home for me and my kids.
From that day on, I was hooked. My tight budget led me to thrift stores, where I discovered treasures that told stories. Eventually, I graduated to antique shops, flea markets, and consignment stores. I became fascinated with the history behind each piece—the conversations they had witnessed, the places they had been, and the memories they carried.
This curiosity and passion grew into a career. I launched several successful curated retail stores and began designing spaces and offices for others. Alongside my work as a publicist and revenue marketer, I found immense joy in helping people transform their spaces. Seeing the love and connection my clients had for the items I curated for them was deeply moving. The words “guiding light” often came up in conversations with clients, which led me to name my company North Starr—a nod to my name and the guidance I aim to provide through curation.
Over the years, I’ve traveled the world, sourcing unique treasures from flea markets, local artisans, and beautiful shops. I’ve sent entire containers of curated items to clients, each filled with pieces that bring beauty, meaning, and soul to their spaces. This world has so much to offer, and I believe that amidst life’s busyness, we sometimes forget to bring that beauty and storytelling into our homes.
North Starr was born to change that.
